卡巴斯基(Kaspersky)，這套來自俄羅斯的防毒軟體，憑藉著它優異的掃毒能力與強大的防護功能，近幾年已獲得各階層使用者的好評，並且屢次在各大防毒軟體評鑑網站拿下佳績，相信大家對它應該都不陌生。美國線上(AOL)看見了卡巴斯基優秀的表現，於是與其軟體開發公司合作推出了一套免費的防毒軟體：Active Virus Shield。

Active Virus Shield是以商業版卡巴斯基為基礎所開發出來的，所以它可以算是卡巴斯基的免費精簡版。既然是免費，功能上自然和商業版有些不同；和商業版卡巴斯基比起來，Active Virus Shield雖然少了「免疫防護」與「網頁防護」這兩項功能，但因為它採用了與卡巴斯基相同基礎的掃毒引擎與病毒碼，所以在防毒能力上可是一樣強大呢！

雖然Active Virus Shield是套免費軟體，但安裝之前你必須先至官方註冊網頁(http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/get_started.adp)取得軟體使用序號才能順利安裝使用。註冊的方法是：進入註冊網頁後輸入你的E-MAIL，然後按下「Get it now」，完成後官方就會把使用序號寄到你的信箱裡了。每註冊一次可獲得一年的使用權限，一年之後可用相同的E-MAIL再註冊，就可再獲得一年的使用權限。

熊猫烧香

病毒描述：
“武汉男生”，俗称“熊猫烧香”，这是一个感染型的蠕虫病毒，它能感染系统中exe，com，pif，src，html，asp等文件，它还能中止大量的反病毒软件进程并且会删除扩展名为gho的文件，该文件是一系统备份工具GHOST的备份文件，使用户的系统备份文件丢失。被感染的用户系统中所有.exe可执行文件全部被改成熊猫举着三根香的模样。

PAL: 25 fps

720p30 : 720p video at 30 fps
720p60 : 720p video at 60 fps

Modern video cards, often featuring NVIDIA or ATI chipsets, can perform at over 160 fps on intensive games such as F.E.A.R.

However, an average 17" CRT monitor can reach 85 Hz, meaning that any performance reached by the game over 85 fps is discarded. And LCD monitor works at 60Hz.

For 30 fps, time between 2 frames = 1000ms/30 ~33ms
For 60 fps, time between 2 frames = 1000ms/60 ~16ms
For 85 fps, time between 2 frames = 1000ms/85 ~12ms

Here come the question, what is the purpose of having a so-called 2ms response time LCD?

ps: 2ms is not the real figure of response time of a pixel between switching one and off.

High Definition

It will be a year of high definition, either high definition video or TV.

TV producers have pushed tons of huge slim TV and a lot more in the coming days. Between LCD TV and plasma, LCD TV will be the winner.

Most LCD TV in the market will use HD-ready as the selling point. But you got to be carefully in choosing them as HD-ready doesnt worth much.

Here comes those HD standards: 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

480p : 480 lines of progressive video (480 lines per frame). DVD quality.
720p : 720 lines of progressive video (720 lines per frame).
1080i : 1080 lines of interlaced video (540 lines per field).
1080p : 1080 lines of progressive video (1080 lines per frame).

1080i and 1080p usually refers to 1920x1080 resolution and is often called Full HD..

As you can see, 1080p is the highest standard and the most difficult to achieve of course.

Sometimes you may come across some LCD TV claiming to be 1080p compatible but then you figure out it is only running at 1366×768 , are they cheating?

No, they are just telling you that their TV is capable to recieve 1080p signal but then they will downscale it into a video that fit to 768 lines.

Next time, be careful when choosing a HD-ready TV.
